New Iridium Extreme 9575
E-SAT is pleased to announce the new Iridium Extreme 9575 handset. New Firmware 4.0.0 for IsatPhone Pro available!
We are pleased to inform you that the IsatPhone Pro firmware version 4.0.0 is released and available for download from 31st March 2011. A detailed release note of firmware features is included in the ZIP file: http://www.e-sat.fr/uploads/download/IsatPhone_Pro_firmware_version_4_0_0.zip
Recommendations for installation:
This is an Important firmware upgrade, meaning that issues fixed by the firmware have an important benefit to all users. This firmware is Not Critical, i.e. phone and text services will continue to function without this release. But we strongly recommend to install it.

Iridium SMS Balance Check Alert!
Iridium now offers SMS balance check, providing the ability for customers using prepaid e-vouchers to send a balance enquiry via an SMS to 2888 in order to receive their current status for no charge.
New LaunchPad version 5.0 for BGAN & FleetBroadband
Inmarsat is pleased to inform you that a new, updated and combined BGAN and FleetBroadband version of LaunchPad has been released. Inmarsat LaunchPad version 5 for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 users is now available for download from our website at http://www.e-sat.fr/en/customers-area/downloads/.
This new release combines support for all current BGAN Land Portable, Land Mobile and FleetBroadband terminals. Features include small installer package and language support for all terminals in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French and Russian. More information on this release can be found in the release notes. This new release is available for automatic download from the LaunchPad accessible under Tools / Updates.
Data over IsatPhone Pro coming soon
IsatPhone Pro users will be able to send and receive data thanks to a new firmware upgrade.
The new circuit-switched 'plug and play' data capability will offer an effective data rate of up to 20kbps for plain text emails, and enable users of the global handheld satellite phone to send jpegs, PDFs, Word documents and other commonly-used file formats.
The data capability will be part of the next firmware upgrade planned for 31 March 2011.
In addition to the data capability, the next firmware upgrade for IsatPhone Pro will feature a number of other service enhancements which will be outlined shortly.

Thuraya have officially announced an end of sale on the SO-2510 handset and an end of production of the SG-2520 handset. Accessories remain available as the latest XT handled. Limited quantity available at E-SAT.
TCP Accelerator upgrade
Dear BGAN and FleetBroadband Customers,
We are pleased to inform you that TCP Accelerator version 2 for 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 has been released and available for download from our website at http://www.e-sat.fr/en/customers-area/downloads/
This release is a recommended upgrade providing faster TCP transfers for compressible files and is now enabled by default after installation. More information on this release and instructions how to install can be found on the download section on our Website in the User Guide. This release will be available for download within one week through the BGAN LaunchPad Update Service.
Inmarsat announced its upcoming Global Xpress Inmarsat-5s
Inmarsat has announced that it has ordered three new satellites from Boeing in order to launch a new mobile broadband service with speeds up to 50Mbps and small size terminals for the land, maritime and aeronautical markets. This huge investment will target new business opportunities in the VSAT services.

E-SAT carries Beta tests on the latest Inmarsat Istaphone Pro
Following the official launch of the Isatphone Pro, Inmarsat’s latest satellite handheld, E-SAT was selected by Inmarsat to carry some Beta tests with selected customers on the field.
First tests showed some very good performances regarding the voice quality this comparing to other satellite networks. Sending SMS and GPS positions through local French GSM Operators turned out successfully.
Using the handset is very simple and intuitive. The terminal is very resistant making it a confident communication tool in harsh environmental conditions. This said, we will be happy if you could share these impressions with us.

Wideye Sabre I Firmware Release
We are pleased to inform you that the Wideye Sabre I Land Mobile firmware release version R012.2.1 is released and available for download from E-SAT website at http://www.e-sat.fr/fr/espace-clients/telechargements/

We are pleased to inform you that BGAN LaunchPad software version 4.0.1 for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 has been released and is available for download from the E-SAT website at http://www.e-sat.fr/en/customers-area/downloads/
This release has support for Windows 7 OS. Support for Spanish, Chinese and Japanese languages and a new help document. This release will be available for download within one week from the BGAN LaunchPad update server.

Inmarsat mobile broadband network goes global
The era of global coverage for Inmarsat mobile broadband communications has arrived, following completion of Inmarsat's network-optimising satellite repositioning programme.
The new global I-4 satellite network went live when broadband services were successfully transferred to the Inmarsat-4 (I-4) F1 spacecraft at 20:00 UTC on Tuesday, 24 February.
The new global I-4 satellite regions are:
- Americas - from 98 degrees West
- EMEA - from 25 degrees East
- Asia-Pacific - from 143.5 degrees East.
Also involved in the transfer were Inmarsat's satellite phone services (SPS) - IsatPhone, LandPhone and FleetPhone - which have now commenced operation on two I-4 satellites.
As a result, satellite phone services are now available on both the I-4 EMEA and I-4 Asia-Pacific satellites.
The restoration of services on the I-4 F1 brings Inmarsat's satellite repositioning programme to a successful conclusion.
